Welcome to Backyard Plans by Cottage Country Design (Georgian Bay Cottage Service & Construction LTD O/A Cottage Country Design) These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our website and your purchase of building permit drawings for residential accessory structures in Ontario.
By using our site or purchasing a product, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use this website.
1. Who We Are
Backyard Plans by Cottage Country Design is an Ontario-based company offering stock architectural drawings for backyard structures such as sheds, bunkies, studios, and garages.
All drawings are prepared by a BCIN-certified designer in accordance with the Ontario Building Code at the time of creation.
2. Product Description
Our building plans are:
Stock (pre-drawn) permit drawings for accessory structures
Intended for use within Ontario, Canada
Prepared by a designer holding a valid BCIN (Building Code Identification Number)
Delivered via email, not instant download
Each plan includes typical drawings required for permit applications such as floor plans, elevations, sections, construction notes, and code references.
3. Delivery of Plans
All plans are delivered manually by email.
After purchase, your plan will be sent to the email address you provided at checkout.
Plans are typically delivered within 1–2 business days from info@backyardplans.ca.
Be sure to check your spam or junk folder if you don’t see your files.
If you don’t receive your plans within 2 business days, please contact us.
4. License & Use
Your purchase grants you a non-transferable, single-use license to use the drawing set for:
One (1) project
At one (1) property location in Ontario
You may not:
Reuse the plan for another project or location
Share, sell, or redistribute the files
Modify and resell the design in whole or part
Plans are for personal or private construction use only.
5. Permit Responsibility
Although our plans are prepared to meet Ontario Building Code standards:
Municipal approval is not guaranteed
You are responsible for confirming zoning compliance, setbacks, site grading, and local permit requirements
Site-specific elements (e.g. foundation conditions, slope, tree coverage, conservation restrictions) may require modifications or additional drawings
Some municipalities may require an engineer’s review or additional documentation
It is your responsibility to consult your local building department to ensure the plan meets your site-specific needs.
6. Refund Policy
Because our products are digital and custom-delivered, all sales are final. No refunds or exchanges will be provided once a drawing set has been sent.
If you accidentally ordered the wrong plan or need assistance, contact us as soon as possible and we will do our best to help before the files are delivered.
7. Intellectual Property
All designs, plans, and content are the property of Cottage Country Design and the original BCIN-certified designer. All rights are reserved.
You may not reproduce, share, or distribute the plans except as permitted under your single-use license.
8. Pricing & Payment
All prices are listed in Canadian Dollars (CAD).
Prices are subject to change without notice.
Payments are securely processed through Shopify's checkout system using accepted payment methods.
9. Limitation of Liability
We are not liable for:
Permit rejections
Construction delays
Site conditions that affect usability of the drawings
Modifications made to the plans by others
Use of our plans is at your own risk and discretion.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable therein.
